Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) is a diagnostic test used to assess the blood flow to the legs by comparing the blood pressure in the ankle with the blood pressure in the arm (brachial artery). ABI is especially important in wound care because it helps determine whether a patient has sufficient blood flow to support wound healing, particularly in patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
