Sharp Debridements

Medical procedure used to remove dead (necrotic), infected, or damaged tissue from a wound using sharp instruments, such as scalpels, scissors, or curettes. The goal of this process is to promote wound healing by eliminating tissue that may harbor bacteria, delay the healing process, or lead to infection.

By removing the dead tissue, sharp debridement allows healthy tissue to grow and improves the effectiveness of other wound treatments like dressings and skin grafts.
