At your first wound care appointment with Wound Wellness—whether in the comfort of your home or at our Lake Villa clinic—you can expect compassionate, comprehensive care tailored to your specific needs. We take the time to understand not just your wound, but you as a whole person.
Our nurse practitioner will thoroughly review your medical history, learn how your wound developed, and assess any treatments you've tried so far. This helps us understand the full picture of your healing challenges.
We'll conduct a complete wound evaluation, including measuring the wound, assessing its depth and condition, and checking for signs of infection or circulation issues. This assessment forms the foundation of your personalized treatment plan.
Based on our evaluation, we'll develop a customized treatment plan that may include advanced therapies like UltraMist therapy, specialized dressings, debridement, infection control strategies, and recommendations for nutrition and at-home care.
You'll receive clear guidance on how to care for your wound between visits, what symptoms to watch for, and how often you'll need follow-up appointments to ensure you feel fully supported throughout your healing journey.
